Immigrant and Refugee Grants Coordinator

Catholic Charities of the East Bay (CCEB) has been growing the Immigration Legal Services Program, Refugee Services Program, and Family Literacy Program (family-based ESL & case management for immigrant families) over the last several years to meet the growing needs of the immigrant community in the Diocese of Oakland (Alameda and Contra Costa Counties in CA). Specifically, the programs have been working to expand high-demand services not currently available for immigrants in our communities, particularly mental health, domestic violence, and culturally and linguistically appropriate case management support services. CCEB is also working to build the capacity of the Refugee Services department to meet the continuing needs of existing refugee populations. CCEB's Grants Department is committed to sustainability planning and strategically increasing funding for these much-needed services in our community. The New Americans VISTA program will support all aspects of program sustainability planning for immigrant and refugee services programs within our agency.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA will build capacity for the Grants Department through direct grants research and writing support for immigrant and refugee services programs, as well as supporting capacity-building and sustainability-planning efforts. The member will serve as a Grants Department liaison to CCEB's immigration and refugee services programs, tracking ongoing needs to support program setup and expansion design from a grants perspective. The VISTA will also help lay the groundwork for the upcoming Grants Department MSW field placement and volunteer program. The VISTA will design training curriculum, identify the scope of work (overall and tailored to a variety of volunteer skill and availability levels), create flowcharts and descriptions of work tasks and assignments (such as needs statement research, program deliverables description statements, evaluation plans, logic models, etc.), and assist in volunteer recruitment.
