CMP Program Development Assistant VISTA

The Program Development Assistant will be based at La Plata Youth Services (LPYS) and will specifically support the La Plata County Collaborative Management Program (CMP) in Durango, CO. Durango, the largest town in Southwest Colorado, is nestled among the San Juan Mountains with the Animas River running through town. The area has a small ski resort, rafting, mountain and road biking, hiking, and camping. The sun shines close to 300 days out of the year. The community is said to have more restaurants per capita than San Francisco, is home to a 4-year college, and offers many cultural experiences through musical venues, art galleries, and theater. The La Plata County Collaborative Management Program (CMP) is a collaborative of youth-serving agencies who work together to identify gaps in the community and then create innovative, collaborative responses to better address the needs of at-risk youth in La Plata County. Overlap will occur with behavioral health support services, regional school districts, mental health and substance abuse prevention. Treatment programs, as well as student safety, crisis prevention, intervention, and aftercare can all be part of CMP’s work with families.
