MCH operates on a budget that is funded totally by donations from many sources. It also relies on many volunteers to help staff the numerous programs and ministries we offer. As such there is a great need for the organization to have a robust communications, relationship management and fundraising system to ensure sustainability and to position itself for future expansion. As a VISTA you will play a vital role with one or more staff or other VISTA team members in developing and implementing systems to build capacity. As a Development and Communications VISTA you will: • Research potential new grants, donors and organizations whose funding objectives align with MCH’s mission and vision, create and maintain database • Assist in the preparation and tracking of grant inquiries and full proposals • Assist in the design and implementation of systems and procedures for the optimization of grant, donor recruitment and fundraising initiatives • Research and help implement best practices for non-profit fundraising and marketing strategies using email and social media platforms • Create, implement and update social media, email and website content for use in routine communications to churches, donors and volunteers • Design marketing materials and oversee associated production and distribution • Coordinate certain aspects of fundraising events and plans as directed • Assist staff with other tasks as needed as a member of the MCH team
