SCA Hudson Valley Corps

For the past 18 years, the SCA Hudson Valley Corps has brought together a diverse group of individuals to perform critical outdoor conservation projects throughout the region’s communities. The 50 members of the Hudson Valley Corps serve their local communities by engaging in trail construction and maintenance, invasive species management, GIS mapping and ecological restoration, environmental education in local schools and at festivals and fairs, training volunteers for citizen science initiatives, and by leading volunteers and other SCA members at service events. In addition to these important duties, SCA members gain skills that will catapult them into future careers in conservation. SCA professional development and conservation skills trainings are provided as part of the Hudson Valley Corps program curriculum, and also through partner-led trainings at host sites. These trainings, coupled with a hands-on approach to completing critical conservation and stewardship projects and a strong network of conservation partners in the region, contribute to program success year after year. SCA Hudson Valley Corps positions run mid-January through mid-November.
