THN VISTA Community Relations Coordinator (Year 2)

The VISTA Community Relations Coordinator will increase The Cove’s organizational capacity by assisting in capacity building and coordinating community messaging and communications. The Cove exists to provide unaccompanied and housing unstable young people the support they need to graduate from high school fully prepared for college, a training program, the military or the workplace. The VISTA Community Relations Coordinator will work directly with community members seeking to volunteer with The Cove, give in-kind donations, or financially support the work. This role also involves coordinating the weekly communications and messaging for The Cove via social media, community coalitions, newsletters, service projects and fundraising events.

Member Duties : By choosing to serve with Texas Homeless Network at The Cove in Waco, TX you will have the opportunity to cultivate and maintain communications for a growing agency doing meaningful work for youth homelessness. As a member, you will maintain regular communications activities for The Cove’s social media and print communications. You will have a direct hand in developing community relationships to build connections for The Cove. You will develop donor database to increase donor retention and resource development capacity of The Cove. You will also create marketing materials and maintain social media presence to increase awareness and encourage community participation in the work. You will analyze donor trends and develop segmented marketing strategies to meet the felt needs of various community stakeholders. From this analyzing, you will assess and evaluate projects developed and recommend strategies for sustainability ensuring your service-year leaves a legacy.
