Ambassador for Volunteer Development - Camdenton, MO

Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis. Please feel free to reach out directly to the program contact listed. This project will cover the counties of Camden, Laclede, Miller and Morgan, which is the region in which Lake of the Ozarks Council of Local Governments (LOCLG) represents. LOCLG is designated as an Economic Development District (EDD) by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA). As an EDD, we develop a regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the region, which is a detailed look at the current economic factors that impact the region and specific strategies that we have identified that could improve a number of economic drivers. Implementation of the CEDS will help reduce poverty, increase employment opportunities, and build stronger communities within the region. The VISTA will work to develop a comprehensive volunteer framework that will be able to recruit volunteers to be partners in our economic development efforts and the implementation of the CEDS. This project is sponsored by the Austin Regional Office (AURO) of the Economic Development Administration (EDA), and will be directly supervised by the LOCLG Executive Director at our office in Camdenton, Missouri. The overall EDA Mission is "to lead the federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness, preparing American regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy."
