Appalachian SCPVP: SCCF Resource Development VISTA

The South Cumberland Community Fund (SCCF) is a philanthropic foundation that provides grants for area nonprofits in rural Grundy, Marion, and Franklin counties in southeast Tennesssee, and offers capacity building opportunities to support SCCF’s vision that “the South Cumberland Plateau be a place of hope and prosperity for all its residents and communities, inspired by the Fund’s philanthropic and regional leadership.” SCCF partners with nonprofit organizations on initiatives to improve health, education, and economic opportunity for people living in poverty. It is the only philanthropic foundation serving economically distressed Grundy County. The Resource Development VISTA will create processes that increase and diversify financial support of SCCF by developing volunteer recruitment and management systems, diversifying the donor base, creating a planned giving program, and identifying sources of grant funding. The VISTA will collaborate with the SCCF board to 1. Create the tools and processes for the SCCF volunteer recruitment and retention program; 2. Develop, implement, and document recruiting strategies and programs for younger donors that enhances SCCF’s engagement with the community and its investment in the mission of SCCF; 3. Research, identify, and apply for grants from governmental agencies; and 4. Develop a planned giving program.
