ECO AmeriCorps-Education and Outreach Coordinator

The ECO AmeriCorps member will help educate and engage residents and visitors on Lake Champlain watershed health and stewardship, assist and expand LCC's education and outreach programs, raise awareness of lake issues with residents and visitors, coordinate stormwater reduction efforts with local schools, assist with invasive species control and cyanobacteria monitoring, implement water clean up events, promote water conservation efforts, help install bioswales and rain gardens at area schools, develop stormwater education materials for broader community

Member Duties : Based in Burlington, Vermont, the ECO member will grow and service LCC's education and outreach goals, develop outreach materials and approaches for municipalities, assist in stormwater reduction programs at three local schools, help cultivate relationships with local community groups, plan and lead LCC educational events, produce educational materials for publication to wide audience, recruit, manage and support volunteers, develop annual "Champlain Paddlers" guidebook, monitor cyanobacteria and lead invasive species control effort, create educational displays, fact sheets and press releases, build education, outreach and stewardship programs
