Fall Mountain Food Shelf Development VISTA
The Fall Mountain Food Shelf serves children, adults, the elderly, unemployed, handicapped, retired poor, and any unable to adequately provide for themselves or their families in Sullivan, Windsor, Cheshire, and Windham counties, and surrounding towns. 11.8 % of Cheshire County residents and 9.7% of Sullivan County residents live below the poverty level. Additionally, 15.8% and 16.7% of the residents of two neighboring Vermont towns live below the poverty level, many of whom frequent the food shelf. We turn no one away. The Fall Mountain Food Shelf, an all-volunteer 501(c)3 public charity, provided 12,140 nutritious boxes of food to families and individuals in need during 2018. The food shelf served approximately 48,560 individuals, while two auxiliary programs served an additional 26,520 in-house meals and Meals on Wheels.
