CHILDREN AT RISK is a non-partisan research and advocacy organization dedicated to addressing the root causes of poor public policies affecting children. CHILDREN AT RISK works on a broad range of children’s issues, including education, parenting and family wellbeing, health and nutrition, immigration, and the fight to end human trafficking. We focus our efforts where they are needed most: where a significant number of Texas’ children are affected, and where we can enhance, but not duplicate, the work of others. Nearly 300,000 children in North Texas live in poverty, more than 350,000 children are considered food insecure, and nearly 500 schools in North Texas are considered failing in CHILDREN AT RISK’s Annual School Rankings. The Development and Communications VISTA will build capacity by leveraging community support and resources through grant writing and events. Member Duties : The Development and Communications VISTA will build capacity by leveraging community support and resources through grant writing and events.
