CHILDREN AT RISK Anti-Human Trafficking VISTA (Dallas)
 
 
 
CHILDREN AT RISK is a non-partisan research and advocacy organization dedicated to addressing the root causes of poor public policies affecting children. CHILDREN AT RISK works on a broad range of children’s issues, including education, parenting and family wellbeing, health and nutrition, immigration, and the fight to end human trafficking. We focus our efforts where they are needed most: where a significant number of Texas’ children are affected, and where we can enhance, but not duplicate, the work of others. CHILDREN AT RISK is committed to strengthening laws and policies on human trafficking and improving the response to children who have been commercially sexually exploited. The Anti-Human Trafficking VISTA will build capacity through community outreach and awareness campaigns, increased volunteerism in the cyber patrol program and expand the statewide CEASE Project (Cities Empowered Against Sexual Exploitation). Member Duties : The Anti-Human Trafficking VISTA will build an anti-demand coalition in the North Texas communities and increase volunteer capacity for the cyber patrol program with the goal of decreasing the trafficking of minors. Major activities include: •Meet with representatives of nonprofits, elected officials and law enforcement to explore tactics to reduce demand •Participate in community outreach and engagement events •Facilitate community events to increase awareness of known human trafficking hubs throughout the North Texas community •Recruit and train volunteers for the cyber patrols •Facilitate 3 to 4 community events to increase awareness and recruit volunteers **Complete this survey to indicate sites of interest and be considered for an interview: https://forms.gle/AiuwBRm7c4e88KgYA
