CHILDREN AT RISK Food Access and Nutrition VISTA (Dallas)

CHILDREN AT RISK is a non-partisan research and advocacy organization dedicated to addressing the root causes of poor public policies affecting children. CHILDREN AT RISK works on a broad range of children’s issues, including education, parenting and family wellbeing, health and nutrition, immigration, and the fight to end human trafficking. We focus our efforts where they are needed most: where a significant number of Texas’ children are affected, and where we can enhance, but not duplicate, the work of others. CHILDREN AT RISK is working to break the cycle of poverty by helping children gain access to healthy meals and increasing school performance thus increasing the likelihood of students obtaining higher education. The Food Access and Nutrition VISTA project will increase access to and participation in Federal Meal programs during, after, and outside of the school day through collaboration with schools, food banks and other community organizations.
