VISTA Community Partnership Coordinator- SAClubhouse

Our Work-Ordered Day (WOD) program is an implementation of the evidence-based Clubhouse recovery model. This model of recovery supports adults by providing opportunities for our members to build relationships with others and work towards their goals while contributing to the Clubhouse community. The model is rooted in a philosophy codified in our “37 International Standards” of practice. Our Standards outline the philosophy of how we should be operating the clubhouse community, but the implementation of the model is left to the individual clubhouse, allowing us to have great flexibility in what services we offer. Since we are able to determine what services we offer, our Clubhouse is a direct reflection of the needs of our members and the abilities of our members and staff. Our WOD program is thus a dynamic and organic reflection of our people. Today, our primary WOD components are: •Clubhouse Career Program – This is our way of providing employment support to our members. We have three main types of employment: transitional, supported, and independent. The Clubhouse team will provide job search assistance, resume help, mock interviews, advocacy with employers, or any other support a member needs, regardless of which program they choose to participate in. In 2018, 116 members chose to participate in this program, with 49 members securing employment. •Nutrition and Wellness Program – This is our way of providing physical wellness support to our member. We provide low-cost, subsidized, nutritious meals and snacks to our members. We also provide opportunities for our members to participate in physical wellness activities, and educational workshops. In 2018, our members walked 1,759 miles and shared 10,488 meals as part of this program. •Connectedness and Resilience for Everyone (CARE) – Through this program, we aim to create opportunities for our members to create positive and healing relationships with others in the Clubhouse community.

Member Duties : Our Community Partnership Coordinator (CPC) will support our entire organization, with a primary focus on our Clubhouse Career Program (aka, our Employment Program). Our CPC will primarily support the Employment Program by helping to identify local employers whom might be logical employers for our members. They'll reach out to employers to coordinate meetings, they'll speak with / present to local business owners and managers, and support the ongoing efforts to build relationships with local businesses. Depending on the CPC's availability, they may also be asked to present any lessons learned to other Clubhouse colleagues throughout Texas, or to directly help them with their own community partnership initiatives. Finally, the CPC might support our Project Hydroponic Urban Growth (HUG) team which will operate a hydroponic farm capable of producing literal tons of vegetables per year. The HUG team will also meet with local businesses, such as restaurants and non-profits.
