ECONOMIC MOBILITY VISTA

United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties fights for the education, health, and financial stability of every person in every community we serve. As an AmeriCorps VISTA, you will join a team-orientated office working throughout Lake and Sumter Counties under the supervision of the Community Impact Director. In your role as Economic Mobility VISTA, you will help support United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties’ efforts to empower individuals and families to obtain employment, improve their financial education and management skills, and access resources and services related to financial stability. Your VISTA service will also be instrumental in building relationships with our community partners, nonprofit agencies, government, and corporations recruiting volunteers, and helping understand, build and enhance programs focused on free tax preparation for low-income workers, financial coaching/education, job training/placement, and other skill development programs. Together, we will make a meaningful, measurable and lasting difference in the lives of people struggling with poverty in Lake and Sumter Counties.
