NJ Bonner: TASK Patron Services & Case Management Assistant
 
 
 
Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) mission is to feed those who are hungry in the Trenton area and offer programs to encourage self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life of its patrons. Those who come to TASK are low-income. Our patrons include families with children as well as people who are senior citizens, addicted, have mental or physical impairments, veterans, recent immigrants, employed in low-wage jobs, and/or newly unemployed. During COVID pandemic: While TASK cares deeply about the safety of our AmeriCorps, many of the responsibilities of this position must be done onsite. Part of the work with this program will be to help clients who struggle with having access to and fluency with technology. Whenever possible, we will allow this AmeriCorps to work remotely. However, for much of this job, it will be necessary to work onsite to effectively assist our patrons. TASK will provide PPE.

Member Duties : Referrals & Case Management - Assist with connecting patrons to community resources - Contact community partners and schedule them to table at TASK - Assist with applications to SNAP and other benefits Food Security/Patron Services - Assist with meal preparation, packaging, and service - Assist with sorting the hygiene room and distributing items to patrons - Assist in completing quarterly progress reports - Represent TASK at events (virtual and/or in-person) to teach people about available services
