RAM Volunteer Resource and Retention Coordinator VISTA
 
 
 
Remote Area Medical's mission is to prevent pain and alleviate suffering by providing free quality healthcare to those in need. The proposed VISTA project aligns with the Healthy Futures focus area. The VISTA project will seek to provide more low-income individuals with access to RAM's free mobile clinic services, and will benefit more than 8,000 low-income individuals. This VISTA member will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as creating patient health resources, developing volunteer retention systems, and creating materials for patient follow-up care.

Member Duties : During your service, you will research potential opioid addiction resource groups and work to develop partnerships with these groups. You will develop materials that are low-literacy and clearly communicate the resources available for Tennesseans struggling with addiction. You will attend RAM clinics and research avenues for follow-up care for patients. You will also develop a method to track documents and create materials for patients that detail resources for follow-up care. These tasks will ultimately help RAM provide more low-income individuals with access to RAM’s free mobile clinic services. You’ll be a great fit if you are committed to service and have an interest in developing a deeper understanding of how health disparities impact low-income and rural communities. This position is appropriate for anyone committed to helping RAM, including recent graduates of undergraduate and graduate programs, career-changing professionals, and retirees.
