Refugee Connections AmeriCorps VISTA

Do you have a passion for community engagement, community empowerment and an interest in learning about AND from the many vibrant refugee communities in Utah? The Refugee Connections VISTA with Salt Lake City’s Youth & Family division will have the opportunity to serve in a neighborhood-based community center developing programming designed to meet the needs of refugee families and individuals. Because we are a division of Salt Lake City government, the VISTA member will also work to help bridge the gaps between city services, programs, and personnel, and members of the refugee community. This position is a part of the Utah Refugee VISTA Project, which is host to ten VISTA members serving across seven refugee service organizations in the Salt Lake valley. During service, you'll get to know all of the amazing things Salt Lake City has to offer! Salt Lake is emerging as a diverse city offering incredible options for food, adventure, coffee shops and more! For questions about this position, the Utah Refugee VISTA Project, or AmeriCorps VISTA service, please contact Kira DeLong at kdelong@utah.gov.
