LifeBridge AmeriCorps Member 2019-2020 Service Year
 
 
 
LifeBridge AmeriCorps members ensure the education and health and human service needs of individuals, children, families and veterans throughout WV are being met. Members provide services within their communities through service projects, after school programs, veterans programs, and more. LifeBridge AmeriCorps members receive training to meet community needs and gain life long, marketable job skills. LifeBridge AmeriCorps members serve in one of three corps: Education corps members serve in high schools to help students graduate within 4 years. Members also collaborate with community assets to provide financial literacy, job skills training, and basic needs assistance. Economic Opportunity Corps members serve in non-profits around the state in order to improve financial literacy and assist vulnerable populations become more financially secure. Vet Corps serve as role models and mentors to assist veterans and their families in job skills training, academic support, veteran resource assistance, and transitional support.

Member Duties : LifeBridge AmeriCorps members serve 1700 hours over twelve months. Duties may include: serving people in the community, volunteer recruitment, mentoring high school students, assisting veterans in getting benefits, teaching financial literacy to low-income adults, and much more.
