PACE Career Academy Charter School Development VISTA

From its inception, PACE has been supporting the neediest students in Merrimack Valley. Our bright students are attracted to our school for a myriad of reasons. What they all have in common is seeking an environment more suited for their learning styles. Our goal of 50 students allows us to have small class sizes and individualized support. In Merrimack Valley the average income is $24,000 a year. Of our student body 82% qualify for free or reduced lunch. Our goal is to prepare our students to be self sustainable by preparing them for a career or secondary education.

Member Duties : Merrimack Valley’s average income is $24,000.00 a year. 82% of students in Merrimack Valley qualify for free or reduced lunch. The VISTA program will allow PACE to solidify itself as a long-term support for young people and families in this low income community. The VISTA will assist in recruiting and managing volunteers. The VISTA will also assist in developing a marketing plan to help with community outreach and also assist with PACE’s fundraising efforts. The VISTA will work to research and apply for grants, and help to develop PACE’s development department in an effort to raise additional resources through the community in order to provide more technology and support for our students learning. We will work towards making this role sustainable which would add a great deal of capacity to the school.
