Communications, Media Production, and Events

Generation Schools Network is a nonprofit that transforms public schools, adding up to 30% more learning without increasing costs or teacher workload. This model creates room for revolutionary programming and curricula that prepares students for success — in school, work, and life. This project will develop and implement various capacity-building strategies in the area of communication including a rural podcast, virtual SEL networks (national & state-wide), creation of on-line platforms, continued branding efforts and website updates, and communication support to members of schools and districts. VISTA will also support the planning and execution of events, mostly surrounding GSN’s work with the Student-Centered Accountability Program.

Member Duties : The VISTA will support the launch of a rural podcast that will cover school initiatives and community resources; this work will provide a platform for rural communities to share their experiences and help build alliances across the state. Two SEL forums, one for national intermediaries supporting social/emotional learning and one for schools and districts state-wide will create a critical connection to this new area of work which is so critical to student health and well-being. This VISTA assignment will assist in ensuring that all materials accurately reflect GSN’s branding efforts. GSN maintains three websites; our newly updated main website, which includes an online store and donation link, our Colorado Rural Education Collaborative website, and our Student Success Journey website. Our websites are maintained by our Communications VISTA, under the support of our Communications team.
