NJ Bonner: JFCS Hunger Prevention Coordinator
 
 
 
Jewish Family and Children's Service of Greater Mercer County serves families, children and seniors in greater Mercer County who are food insecure, either temporarily or long-term, as well as those needing our case management services such as financial assistance and housing information. Part of the NJ Bonner AmeriCorps Program, the Hunger Prevention and Case Management Coordinator will be responsible of the food pantry and hunger prevention program and conduct case management intake.

Member Duties : - Assist clients on their pantry visits – onsite as well as with the JFCS Mobile Food Pantry - Shop for items, stock the pantry and coordinate with volunteers - Assist with food shopping and delivery for the Healthy@Home Senior Nutrition Program - Coordinate with outside agencies, businesses and organizations to donate food to the pantry - Work with Mercer Street Friends Food Bank to obtain food - Research and write articles for monthly newsletter which focuses on nutrition education and support services - Create presentations for marketing efforts - Community outreach to provide information about agency’s services - Assist Kosher Café Coordinator with lunch programs - Conduct case management intakes either by phone and/or face-to-face for financial assistance and/or food pantry - Create service plans that incorporate budgeting, resources and guidance on best financial practices Coordinate with internal and external contacts to process financial assistance
