'19-'20 Student Support Community Liaison VISTA

The Regional Alliance for Youth (RALLY) is a network of youth, adults, organizations, businesses & agencies that align to empower successful lifelong learning throughout our communities. RALLY supports college, career & life opportunities that provide all youth opportunities to Dream, Achieve & Thrive. Since 2012, The Pacific Mountain Regional Youth Alliance project has convened, planned & supported regional youth partnering organizations to engage, collaborate & advance culturally relevant family & community roles for student success from early childhood through college. The RALLY Team, led by the Educational Service District #113 & Pacific Mountain Workforce Development, uses a participatory approach in which everyone who has a stake in youth has a voice. Our Common Agenda includes a Collective Impact for Youth: to understand our current strengths & build region-level strength; & to share information via a RALLY website & newsletter. Outcomes include identification of services & programs available to youth in the region; mitigation of barriers for underserved youth (females, low-income, rural & youth of color) to programs & services; & identification of regional solutions to enhance Youth opportunities for success. RALLY seeks to attain its vision through: Measurement—through the collection & analysis of data results across all communities, including child, family & community indicators from multiple sources; Mutually Reinforcing Activities—by encouraging differentiation & coordination through a plan of action; Communication—by developing consistent & open communication among players; & Leadership—by creating & managing skills & structure to support sustainability for the Alliance & its partners. The VISTA will be a member of United Way of Thurston County’s VISTA team, made up of 19 other members & supported by the VISTA Leader, who coordinates professional development opportunities, provides individualized support & resources & supports the program’s success.
