Road to Success VISTA
The Road to Success VISTA, located at the United Way of Weld County in downtown Greeley, Colorado, will work to develop and establish both a county-wide Early Childhood workforce pipeline and a local diaper bank. A poverty alleviation-focused organization, the mission of United Way of Weld County (UWWC) is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community. We work to catalyze individuals and institutions to create the best life possible for Weld County and its citizens. While this VISTA does not have to live in the city of Greeley, it is where our office is located, the county seat, and a university town situated on the Northeastern Front Range of Colorado. Every year, Greeley is home to the “Greeley Stampede” Rodeo, the “Blues Jam” music festival, the Greeley Arts Picnic, and “Friday Fest,” a free outdoor concert hosted weekly throughout the summer, just outside our office doors. Just an hour’s drive north of Denver, east of Rocky Mountain National Park, and south of Wyoming, Weld County is a fast-growing and popular area with gorgeous views of the Rockies from the comfort of acres of rolling farmland. This VISTA will have the opportunity to create a lasting impact on our county. If you are passionate about the health of children and families and economic and educational opportunities (particularly for women), this is a chance for you to make a real, tangible difference in families’ lives. You will have the opportunity to use our expansive network of contacts and your passions and independence to build these 2 programs from the ground up.
