VISTA member will have an opportunity to work with a quality non profit organizations, recognized regionally and globally for the work they are doing to build a vibrant volunteer and referral data base connecting nonprofits to do rigorous and relevant work helping populations living in poverty or crisis in our region. VISTA member will have an opportunity to network with community leaders, expand their network and grow professionally. VISTA member will cover 5 counties but will be based in Traverse City, MI. The region is well known as innovative and creative leaders in systems change and a commitment to outreach to the under served populations. Highlights of the project: United Waves will connect under served youth with quality environmental and STEM education opportunities with hands on experiential learning. Creating a database of impact based metrics for all United Way and VISTA projects, aggregated for community awareness and to identify gaps and/or trends. This includes a database of volunteers through the Get Connected framework. This framework will create a robust listing of opportunities for community members to get engaged in volunteer activities with populations and projects that uniquely fit their service needs.
