CFFC Local Food Marketing VISTA

The Catawba Farm and Food Coalition (CFFC) is a non-profit organization devoted to supporting the local food system of a 5-county region in north central South Carolina (between Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC). CFFC programming includes producer and consumer education programs, policy and planning, and agribusiness development. CFFC is seeking a VISTA volunteer to support marketing and communications programming for all coalition program areas. In this role, the VISTA volunteer will have the opportunity to help craft targeted communication strategies that will engage all area farmers, consumers, community partners, and local food stakeholders. This position will be located in Chester, SC, the center of South Carolina’s Catawba Region. Enjoy living in Chester, South Carolina, a quiet, historic small-town community with access to the major metro area amenities of Charlotte, NC (~30 minutes away).

Member Duties : Job duties will include developing CFFC’s social media presence, including scheduling Facebook and Instagram. Developing a monthly eNewsletter that will reach all stakeholders. Developing a media engagement strategy including pitching news releases, media alerts and other stories. Develop templates for program flyers, graphics, e-vites and other marketing material for major events hosted by CFFC. Review and strengthen all databases used for communication. Develop an engagement strategy to reach area community organizations, the general public and potential donors. Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications.
