VISTA Local Food Coordinator

The Catawba Farm and Food Coalition (CFFC) is a non-profit organization devoted to supporting the local food system of a 5-county region in north central South Carolina (between Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC). In 2016 CFFC launched the Catawba Fresh Market, an online farmers market that connects consumers and producers. CFFC is seeking a VISTA volunteer to support the growth and development of the wholesale component of the Catawba Fresh Market. In this role, the VISTA volunteer will have the opportunity to work with area farmers, food buyers, chefs, and local food stakeholders to catalyze local food wholesale sales. In addition to sales within the Catawba Region the Catawba Fresh Market is a founding member of the South Carolina Food Hub Network, creating state-wide potential for wholesale food sales. CFFC is looking for someone with a passion & curiosity for farm fresh food and that has some experience working in sales – preference for produce, restaurant or specialty foods industry experience. This position will be located in Chester, SC, the center of South Carolina’s Catawba Region. Enjoy living in Chester, South Carolina, a quiet, historic small-town community with access to the major metro area amenities of Charlotte, NC (~30 minutes away).
