SERCAP - Volunteers for Change VISTA

Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project’s (SERCAP) mission is to improve the quality of life for low-income individuals by promoting affordable water and wastewater facilities, community development, environmental health, & self-sufficiency. SERCAP’s Volunteers for Change (VFC) program has hosted thousands of volunteers and has provided rural communities with project based volunteerism since 1987. VFC is looking to expand their programming to more communities and possibly more states in the southeast region of the country. The VISTA will help VFC reach its goals by writing grants to start a scholarship fund for students. The VISTA will also work to create a new service learning track that focuses on economic development. The VISTA will also develop a marketing plan for the VFC program to increase visibility and enrollment.
