Member Duties : The VISTA member will have an integral role in furthering the development of Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project (SERCAP)’s Volunteers for Change program. Volunteers for Change (VFC) is an alternative break program that provides service learning opportunities to college and university students year round. VFC currently serves 35 communities in 6 states. With VFC, students have been provided with service learning opportunities that focus on food insecurity, homelessness, poverty, environmental issues, child development, and senior care in communities. This VISTA member will work directly with the Special Projects Manager to create a fund development and marketing plan for the VFC program. In addition, the VISTA member will create a tourism development learning track for the VFC program that will drive economic development in rural areas. With the help of the VISTA member, VFC will have the tools to grow and the ability to serve even more communities through volunteerism.
