Oregon Rural Healthcare Outreach VISTA
 
 
 
This position joins the Oregon Health Authority’s statewide VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. The Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network (ORPRN) was established in 2002 at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. ORPRN is dedicated to improving the health of rural Oregonians through community-engaged dialogue, coaching, education and research. ORPRN facilitates a broad variety of clinical health care research, quality improvement projects, and practice transformation efforts in settings serving rural and underserved populations in Oregon. Project ECHO is a tele-mentoring model that unites clinicians in rural areas with specialists in a variety of topics. Project ECHO alleviates barriers and provides greater access to care for underserved populations. Member Duties : Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is a tele-mentoring model that unites clinicians in rural areas with specialists in a variety of topics. Project ECHO alleviates barriers and provides greater access to care for underserved populations. The VISTA will learn firsthand about Project ECHO model through relationship-building with Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network (ORPRN), Oregon ECHO Network (OEN), and key project partners. The VISTA will be conducting outreach to community partners who serve economically disadvantaged communities in medically underserved rural areas through listening tour sessions. The VISTA will be responsible for scheduling, facilitating, and sharing and presenting findings from listening tour sessions.
