Yamhill County Public Health

This position joins the Oregon Health Authority’s statewide VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. Yamhill County Public Health’s Emergency Preparedness Program seeks to build sustainable partnerships across both the county, the region, and the state to support the needs of all populations before, during, and after a disaster within the county, especially special population whom are at serious risk of permanent health and economic impacts from an emergency or disaster. Member Duties : The VISTA member will help define and support special populations in Yamhill County that are at serious risk of permanent health and economic impacts from an emergency or disaster due to language barriers, functional or access needs, and financial resource limitations. The VISTA member will expand Yamhill County Public Health Emergency Preparedness outreach and community education programs to ensure equal access by low income and special populations. Additionally, the VISTA member will help develop trainings and exercises that help ensure that public health staff are better ready to respond to economically disadvantaged community members during disasters and public health emergencies.
