Columbia Health Services Equity and Access Specialist VISTA
 
 
 
This position joins the Oregon Health Authority’s statewide VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. Columbia Health Services, approximately 40 minutes from the Portland metropolitan area in St. Helens, offers direct health care services for population-based issues as well as community health education and planning activities. Applicants should have proficient written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of community engagement and health promotion strongly preferred. Member Duties : Columbia Health Services is seeking an ambitious, community-minded VISTA member to assist with reaching underserved populations through targeted media presence, expansion of social media platforms, and creation of print materials. The project will focus on increasing access to care with culturally appropriate materials and information. Activities will include creating a plan to test various methods of communication and assess how well the method reaches community member living in poverty; developing social media presences relevant to target populations and creating messages for youth and adults accessing care; and advocating for resources to create materials in a variety of languages.
