Business Development Coordinator More Than Words

Youth work two paid jobs at MTW: in our $2M bookselling business learning critical skills and a “YOU Job” where they advance personal goals in education, work, and life. MTW is in the midst of a game-changing expansion in the South End of Boston, growing to take over the first floor of our building with a new bookstore, marketplace, and community event space, and serve 60% more youth. In this project, the AmeriCorps VISTA member will help to build the pipeline of in-kind donations to fuel our youth-run businesses. Serving with the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Outreach & Stewardship Coordinator will grow book donations, develop partnerships to drive new types of donations (furniture and textiles) and build systems to thank and recognize donors that are sustainable as we grow. The member will have the opportunity to learn while serving, develop new systems, gain highly useful business development experience, and see our young people grow first hand, all in a dynamic, fast-based, team-oriented, and supportive environment. A $100 monthly housing reimbursement and a $75 monthly transportation reimbursement are available to members serving at MTW.

Member Duties : The Business Development Coordinator will engage recurring book donors, develop new book partnerships, and develop donors for two new kinds of received in-kind donations: textiles and furniture. The Business Development Coordinator will focus on engaging the community through book and clothing drives, outreach to new partners to place book and clothing bins, setup community drop centers, market our new sourcing strategy to our current and new partners, and assist with rebranding our current marketing materials to cater to the entirety of our youth-run sourcing streams.
