Lincoln County Health Equity & Emergency Preparedness VISTA
 
 
 
This position joins the Oregon Health Authority’s statewide VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. Lincoln County Public Health is a local governmental public health agency based in Newport, Oregon with a mission to collaborate with the community to provide leadership in building healthy communities. Services include nutritional assistance, communicable disease, and emergency preparedness. Member Duties : As a VISTA, learn and apply public health skills in practice. Join a community of public health professionals dedicated to alleviating the effects of poverty by implementing sustainable projects across Lincoln County. These projects include supporting the creation of a Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) in Lincoln County. Partner with emergency preparedness staff to improve resilience for low-income communities experiencing health and social inequities. Continue efforts to implement health equity procedures and planning across departments in Lincoln County Public health through education. Accomplish this through the development and promotion of health education materials for the medically under-served, the Latino/a/x community, and those with intellectual & developmental disabilities.
