United Way of Weld County Data and Marketing VISTA Leader

The VISTA Leader will be serving at the United Way of Weld County located in downtown Greeley, Colorado. Colorado is known as one of the sunniest states, with over 300 days of sunshine every year. The City of Greeley is situated in the Northeastern Front Range of Colorado and is experiencing rapid growth and development. Every year, Greeley is home to the “Greeley Stampede” Rodeo, the “Blues Jam” music festival, the Greeley Arts Picnic, and “Friday Fest” a free outdoor concert hosted weekly throughout the summer. United Way of Weld County mobilizes 24 VISTA members, 2 VISTA Leaders, and up to 20 Summer Associate VISTAs to build the capacity of nonprofits and public agencies in order to lift communities and individuals out of poverty. United Way of Weld County VISTA members serve at nonprofits and public agencies in Weld County and 7 Northeastern Colorado Counties. United Way of Weld County is looking for a motivated and creative leader who has completed a year of AmeriCorps National Service or is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer to serve alongside a second VISTA Leader to develop and maintain a fun, engaging, and effective VISTA program. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking to develop program management, leadership, communication, and facilitation skills at an organization that loves its VISTA members! The VISTA team will facilitate a sense of shared mission among the VISTAs, create opportunities to share information and resources, assist with program evaluation, and offer ongoing support. Our ideal candidate is someone who will be innovative and people-oriented, have strong communication skills, and who seeks to empower others.

Member Duties : The VISTA Leader will facilitate the program evaluation and ongoing support of a team of 24 year-long VISTA members and up to 20 Summer VISTAs throughout Weld County and Northeastern Colorado. Member duties include: 1.) Coordinate program evaluation and reporting 2.) Provide onboarding support to incoming VISTA members including resource generation and coaching 3.) Develop and send weekly email updates to VISTA members 4.) Develop social media calendar to share program success 5.) Develop marketing materials to build awareness of VISTA program in Northeast Colorado 6.) Help to plan VISTA recognition events and activities 7.) Alongside the second VISTA Leader, plan monthly VISTA meetings and professional development opportunities 8.) Plan social events and activities to build community within the VISTA cohort 9.) Conduct VISTA member site visits
