Elmira- VISTA Volunteer Coordinator

Catholic Charities of Chemung & Schuyler Counties (CCCS) has a mission to build a just and compassionate society rooted in the dignity of all people by reducing poverty, promoting healthy individual and family life, collaborating with faith communities and advocating for justice and peace. We are committed to serving all individuals in need – regardless of racial, ethnic, cultural or religious origins, ability to pay, or mental, physical or developmental challenges. CCCS has a cadre of long term and dedicated volunteers that help meet the needs of low-income families. A group of 45 volunteers staff all hours at our food pantry, free clothing store, and donation drop off. About 200 volunteers provide food, cook, serve and clean up after meals at our free community meal program 5-days a week. The VISTA will support these efforts by creating systems and procedures to organize, recruit, coordinate, and acknowledge volunteers. CCCS addresses the most basic needs of vulnerable populations in our counties. The VISTA will help expand the critical work that we do in Chemung & Schuyler counties.
