VISTA Donor & Volunteer Relations Coordinator - AVANCE
Derived from the Spanish word for advance or progress, AVANCE (Uh-vahn-say) was created 46 years ago in San Antonio, TX, primarily to address the educational needs of Latino parents with very young children experiencing poverty and a lack of resources. The program grew throughout the state, with services introduced to Austin in 1997. Using our unique two generation education and relationship-building methodology, we help family members become the best parents, employees, and citizens they can be. We aim to liberate parents and their children from the cycle of poverty in a family-oriented, non-judgmental environment. The result: Our families enjoy a more prosperous future full of opportunity and economic self-sufficiency. Our hallmark program is the Parent-Child Education Program (PCEP), a two-generation program that works with both parents and their young children, newborn to 3 years of age, so that parents increase their knowledge and confidence about their child-rearing skills and in their own achievement, and their children attain optimal development and are ready for school. In addition to the core PCEP, AVANCE-Austin offers Triple P - Positive Parenting Practices, English as a Second Language, Summer Nutrition & Literacy, AVANCE Innovative Moms and Dads (AIMs) and the Mamas Avanzando Alumni Program. The AVANCE model is recognized nationally for poverty alleviation, child abuse prevention, education success, and overall family well-being.

Member Duties : The Donor & Volunteer Relations Coordinator is the foundation of our excellent donor and volunteer relationships, part of a successful, 3-member development team. Duties include developing & improving volunteer projects & recruitment tools; establishing & enforcing standards for database & donor records; creating & managing donor stewardship initiatives, and assisting with event coordination. The VISTA member’s contributions will help support the agency’s expansion & stability by more effectively & efficiently managing the fast-paced growth of the volunteer & donor stewardship program while ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the organization. The VISTA will work closely with the mission-driven staff of a vibrant organization experiencing exponential growth at a time when our underserved Latinx community continues to grow. *Applicants should possess proficiency in MS Office applications, excellent written & verbal skills in English. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
