2019 – Detroit Drives Degrees – Pathways to Employment

Detroit Drives Degrees is a collective impact initiative through the Detroit Regional Chamber to improve the talent pipeline in Southeast Michigan with three focus areas: advancing access, boosting student success, and retaining local talent while attracting new talent as well. As our VISTA serving with Detroit Drives Degrees, you would support their efforts by implementing the 2019/2020 Race to the FAFSA Line Challenge, which engages schools in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties in a competition to improve FAFSA completion rates. You would leverage partnerships between schools within those counties, as well as institutions of higher learning and community organizations to promote a college-going culture and best practices to promote postsecondary access at the K-12 level. Your efforts will create a web of partnerships that will support students in Southeast Michigan, allowing them to pursue their dreams!
