NYC Service Office of the Mayor In-Kind Resource Development
 
 
 
The NYC VISTA Program supports NYC Government agencies to lift New Yorkers out of poverty by increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of each agency. NYC Service, Office of the Mayor, promotes volunteerism, engages New Yorkers in service, builds volunteer capacity and mobilizes the power of volunteers and national service members to impact New York City’s greatest needs. NYC Service works to address New York City’s needs and priorities in the areas of Education, Economic Opportunity, Healthy Futures, Emergency Preparedness & Response, and the Environment in alignment with the One New York: Plan for a Just City. NYC Service’s belief is that in order to fully address these needs, we must strengthen the capacities of our City agencies to serve the people of New York.

Member Duties : The VISTA will build upon NYC Service’s in-kind public-private initiatives by setting and meeting high -target performance metrics and developing long-term engagement among partners designed to address the on-going resource development needs of City agencies with poverty-affected clients. They will implement the Winter Volunteer Engagement Initiative based on a strategic plan, operationalize the Care Kits Initiative in collaboration with key city agency partners, operationalize Project Move-In Day in collaboration with the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and Work with the Public/Private Partnership Director to build partnerships which utilize ongoing engagement as a tool to deepen investment in resource development among corporate partners.
