Sprouts of Promise - VISTA Volunteer Coordinator

Sprouts of Promise educates children and families in Los Angeles and Orange County on the importance of fresh fruits and vegetables for a healthy lifestyle, and gives food-insecure individuals access to locally grown produce. We serve a diverse population of children and families residing in proximity to our five farmers’ markets in Los Angeles and Orange County. Our Farmer-to-Classroom program provides in-school agricultural and nutritional education in elementary schools near our markets. Our Farmer-to-Community program brings donations of market produce to and facilitates cooking classes for food insecure populations served by our community partners such as the Salvation Army. Our Sprouts of Promise Kidzone provides nutrition-focused education for all children who attend our farmers’ markets.
