REDF - VISTA Capacity Building Associate
 
 
 
REDF is working to build a better, more inclusive society where all people have jobs and support they need—and the pride, purpose, and path to self-sufficiency they’ve earned. One of our most innovative programs is LA:RISE. LA:RISE is an innovative, collaborative partnership that unites the City and County of Los Angeles’ Workforce Development System (WDS) with non-profit social enterprises and for-profit employers in order to help men and women with high barriers to employment get good jobs and stay employed. The ultimate goal of the LA:RISE program is to help vulnerable populations find employment and become self-sufficient. As LA:RISE begins its 5th year this is a crucial time for reflection and improvement to ensure that the program continues to support the community. During this time AmeriCorps VISTA members are essential in providing analyses, increasing our marketing efforts, and building systems that create efficiencies and capacity for the LA:RISE partnership and support providers throughout LA County.

Member Duties : As a VISTA member at REDF, you will help build capacity for the LA:RISE partnership and support providers throughout LA County. Major Functions will include: 1) Researching and qualifying prospect employer list and building on existing lists 2) Building on the skilled volunteers research completed by prior VISTA member and create an online tool/ resource to build a pipeline of volunteers for REDF 3.) Participating in outreach events to vulnerable populations to create awareness of LA:RISE program i.e. Homeless Connect Day, Fair Chance Job Fair, Bridge Housing event, etc. 4.) Updating program marketing materials distributed to Social Enterprise and Workforce Agency partners for training.
