Children’s Institute, Inc. (CII) is the largest agency of its kind working to transform the lives of children exposed to adversity and poverty in Los Angeles, serving over 26,000 children and families annually. CII provides trauma-informed early education, behavioral health and family strengthening services to children and families as well as trainings for caregivers and professionals. Our organization is seeking a VISTA member to build capacity by developing a sustainable volunteer recruitment and management system and finding in-kind partners that will allow families struggling with food/supply security to focus on treatment. The VISTA project will be primarily based out of the Otis Booth Campus located in the Central Los Angeles area.

Member Duties : As a VISTA member at CII, the main responsibilities will be to focus on recruiting volunteers with an interest in early childhood education; establishing strong partnerships with local higher education institutions to successfully onboard student volunteers and prospective mental health providers/teachers; increasing the pool of sustainable volunteers who can commit to 3-6 month opportunities; and building a better organizational infrastructure of volunteer paperwork and data. Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
