CHILDREN AT RISK Recovery Planning Research VISTA (Year 2)

Since the landfall of Hurricane Harvey, several collaborative groups and coalitions have been created in response to the needs of the impacted cities. CHILDREN AT RISK created the Hurricane Harvey Children's Recovery Collaborative (HHCRC) in partnership with several nonprofit organizations and government agencies in the Greater Houston area. CHILDREN AT RISK serves as a catalyst for change to improve the quality of life for children through strategic research, public policy analysis, education, collaboration and advocacy. CHILDREN AT RISK is a non-partisan research and advocacy organization dedicated to addressing the root causes of poor public policies affecting children. CHILDREN AT RISK works on a broad range of children’s issues, including education, parenting and family wellbeing, health and nutrition, immigration, and the fight to end human trafficking. We focus our efforts where they are needed most: where a significant number of Texas’ children are affected, and where we can enhance, but not duplicate, the work of others. The Recovery Planning Research VISTA will build capacity by collecting information around a disaster response and recovery plan for the Greater Houston area, with the best interests of children at the forefront of the report.
