CHILDREN AT RISK Partnership and Research VISTA
 
 
 
CHILDREN AT RISK serves as a catalyst for change to improve the quality of life for children through strategic research, public policy analysis, education, collaboration and advocacy. The focus of CHILDREN AT RISK is to make children's needs a priority and to ensure ample resources are available for children and their families to thrive. CHILDREN AT RISK fulfills the holistic needs of children throughout the state of Texas by focusing on four main issue areas that improve the quality of life for children. CHILDREN AT RISK aims to enhance, not duplicate, the work of other nonprofits. Through research and careful examination of where current gaps exist, the organization identified the priority issue areas of enhancing parent and family well-being, strengthening public education, ending child trafficking, and Improving child health and nutrition. The Partnership and Research VISTA will attend community meetings and events related to disaster recovery efforts and share information related to recovery work with other agencies and individuals serving the Houston area. Member Duties : The Partnership and Research VISTA will build capacity by sharing information related to disaster recovery work with other disaster related agencies and families in the Houston area. Major duties include: •Complete a comprehensive list of key service providers and organizations working towards disaster recovery efforts. •Increase site traffic to the CHILDREN AT RISK disaster recovery webpage. •Create and Publicize a user-friendly webpage in English and Spanish of disaster recovery resources. •Attend coalition and group meetings associated with disaster recovery. •Collaborate with partners to collect information and share in a strategic and meaningful manner •Collect and compile resources that will be utilized by partner organizations and the community impacted by natural disasters.
