Maryland MENTOR Resource Development VISTA
 
 
 
Maryland MENTOR, statewide affiliate of the National Mentoring Partnership, seeks to eradicate poverty and improve education and enrichment experiences for our young people through fueling the quality and quantity of mentoring relationships throughout Maryland. This work can only be accomplished via the engagement of a large and diverse cross section of funders, individual donors, community partnerships and the like. The goal of the Development VISTA project is to support Maryland MENTOR in the creation and maintenance of the necessary systems to allow the organization to be efficient and effective in all activities related to fundraising, grant writing and holistic donor management. Member Duties : The goal of the Development VISTA project is to support Maryland MENTOR in the creation of the necessary systems to allow the organization to be effective in fundraising, grant writing and holistic donor management. Our VISTA would support the following: • Identify opportunities for funding across the state, including foundations, corporate partnerships, community partnerships and sources at the local, state and federal levels •Devise strategy for completing proposals for funding opportunities identified • Creating and maintaining donor acknowledgements • Maintain accurate and complete records • Research and identify grant funding sources; write and submit grant proposals • Provide updated reports as requested (number of new companies, number of grants submitted, etc.) • Assist with the organization, planning and execution of Maryland MENTOR special events, including 2019 and 2020 Maryland United 4 Youth statewide conferences
