Fundraising and Communications VISTA

Help the New Jersey Association on Correction (NJAC) serve people affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, incarceration and HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1961, we are changing our name and expanding communications and individual, corporate and foundation fundraising efforts. Help launch our new brand, assist with grant writing, implement a new donor database, expand awareness of our organization through social media, e-newsletters, presence at networking meetings and expanded media outreach. A Community Action Agency based in Trenton, NJAC is an $8.5 million/year nonprofit with services in seven counties. We work to reduce poverty by supporting our clients with counseling, case management, job training, legal advocacy, emergency shelter and transitional housing as they move into the next phase of their lives. In addition to fundraising and communications, you will assist in the implementation of a community needs assessment. The assessment will enable NJAC to better serve its communities with services targeted to current needs. We are looking for someone who is passionate about our client population, has strong verbal and writing skills, is computer literate, and knowledgeable about social media. We will train you in all tasks, which include writing social media posts and grant proposals, funding-related research, organizing event logistics, representing NJAC at networking events, donor data entry, and other tasks as assigned or initiated.
