LET'S GO Student Supports Infrastructure Building

LET'S GO’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty through STEM education and workforce development. Partnerships with schools and youth organizations give LET’S GO an avenue to establish high-quality, contentrich, STEM programs for youth in under-resourced communities. We provide effective capacity building support to our partners through: customized strategic planning, program coordination and evaluation, hands-on STEM professional development and coaching, curriculum selection and development, and equip them with materials. High quality STEM learning experiences help youth develop key proficiencies: critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving skills; enhanced creativity; and engagement in an investigative process. These skills are key for future job security, as STEM-related jobs are some of the fastest growing jobs in the country and 80% of all jobs will require STEM literacy and skills. While all youth are capable of learning and great success, many students lack the resources and support necessary to persist in STEM. LET’S GO STEM Scholars, youth with demonstrate STEM interest and persistence, participate in a variety of opportunities: STEM activities, competition teams, school and career exploration, and family engagement events; all designed to further develop their STEM identity -- a youth’s internal belief that he or she is capable of being successful in STEM or STEM-related fields in school and beyond. By developing collaborations and partnerships with local universities, STEM industry professionals. and other STEM providers; we connect youth with mentors, internships, and STEM experiences to help them succeed in education and the workforce. The LET’S GO VISTA will develop resources, establish partnerships, and create systems that help youth gain STEM and 21st century skills necessary for success in the careers of tomorrow
