* DPHHS-MCVP VISTA Leader

Montana Community VISTA Partnership (MCVP) is housed within a state agency that assists Montana communities with comprehensive prevention planning. Our VISTA project works to alleviate poverty through K-12 education success; Economic Opportunity; supporting veterans, service members & their families; and healthy futures in regards to healthcare access, obesity prevention/nutrition, and preventative health (i.e. child abuse prevention, youth substance abuse, youth violence and teen pregnancy and hunger prevention). The PRC partners with government agencies, schools, tribal governments, and non-profit organizations, such as the YWCA, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Clubs, CASA, and many others to provide VISTA members to communities throughout Montana in cities, rural communities, and frontier areas. Prevention Resource Center VISTAs build capacity in their communities through conducting needs assessments, developing volunteer programs, writing grants, developing fundraisers, establishing sustainable infrastructure, creating outreach materials, and a variety of other duties that work to move individuals, children, families, and veterans out of poverty. The PRC VISTA Leader makes an impact in Montana by being a mentor, recruiter, advocate, resource generator and liaison for VISTA members. Build your professional skills while helping to eradicate poverty by mentoring, advocating and generating resources for VISTAs serving throughout the state of Montana. To be eligible to serve as a VISTA Leader, you must have successfully completed at least one full-length term of national service (VISTA, AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, etc.)
