Community Bridges Alumnae Program
Community Bridges empowers girls from diverse backgrounds to become exceptional students, positive leaders and healthy young women. We do so by addressing the developmental needs of immigrant and minority girls and their families living at or below the federal poverty level in Montgomery County, Maryland. In 2018, the CB Alumnae Program was launched. We noticed that as our girls graduate and go onto college they still need guidance and support to work towards graduation and ending the cycle of poverty for them and their families using education as a vehicle. The overall goal of the AmeriCorps VISTA project is to expand the CB Alumnae program so that it can benefit all our alumnae, especially the ones that are currently still in college. A curriculum focused on college readiness and college success will be developed and implemented in partnership the CB Program Managers.
