Sunset Multi-Service Center Development Specialist

Part of an eight-member VISTA team supported by a VISTA Leader. This VISTA position will lay the foundation for the successful creation and operation of a new multi-service and career development center in the Sunset neighborhood in the City of Renton. Located in the heart of the neighborhood, the goal is to create a welcoming space that houses a variety of programs and services that help Sunset residents of all ages break the cycle of poverty and achieve their goals. This VISTA member will fight poverty by working with Neighborhood House’s Development team to develop resources that transform a former public library into a vibrant, accessible multi-service and career development center for low income community members. Additionally, the VISTA will work with residents, service providers, and the other City of Renton VISTA’s to identify which services are needed most in the Sunset Area and recruit partners to bring services into the neighborhood and the Sunset Multi-Service and Career Development Center. Finally, this position will conduct research and work with partners to create a plan for the center’s use that facilitates a spirit of collaboration, information and resource sharing, and avoids duplication of services.
