THN VISTA Homeless Program Governance (Austin, TX)
 
 
 
The Texas Homeless Network (THN) works to provide solutions to end homelessness in Texas communities through education, resources, and advocacy. Currently, THN has VISTA members placed throughout the state working on capacity building and program development to assist communities in ending homelessness. This VISTA project will build capacity to develop stakeholder participation in the Texas Balance of State Continuum of Care (CoC) Board in order to develop community input for creating programs to house people. To achieve this goal, the VISTA will assist the Balance of State team to create new communication tools and processes with the Board and the communities. Improved Governance will develop more effective programing to house and provide services to people experiencing homelessness.

Member Duties : Site: Texas Homeless Network 1.) Familiarize with current Governance documents and current THN Governance strategy 2.) Organize and participate in the application of new and enhanced processes (e.g. tools for meeting documentation, program updates and requirements, new member training 3.) Work with initiative partners and community leadership to expand coordination efforts in the Texas Balance of State Continuum of Care. 4.) Produce materials (including templates and a web resource) to resolve common issues and improve general practices. 5.)
