2023 Summer : Catholic Charities of Greater Flint VISTA
 
 
 
Catholic Charities of Greater Flint supports soup kitchens for individuals and families who lack adequate food and nutrition. The Kid's Summer Camp provides fun, educational activities, as well as field trips, for area children ages 5-12 years old. The camp, held Monday through Friday, is free to participants and includes a nutritional breakfast and lunch. During the Flint Water Recover Efforts, Catholic Charities is providing help to those in need through its Center for Hope Community Closet and North End Soup Kitchens. Families and individuals in need are able to take home bottled water, as supplies allow.

Member Duties : Summer Associate VISTAs will design and implement activities designed to mitigate summer learning loss and promote nutrition and nutrition education for summer camp participants. Summer Associate VISTAs will also coordinate the summer feeding program including development of resources and marketing, share information related to lead mitigation, and coordinate summer feeding opportunities.
